The Norwegian Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven) entered into force on July 1st 2022. The Transparency Act imposes enterprises to carry out human rights due diligence in their own business and value chain, publish an account of the due diligence assessments, as well as provide information upon request.
It is essential for Volue to ensure that we conduct our business with the highest integrity, respecting the cultures, dignity and rights of individuals in all the countries and markets we operate. Thus, our Supplier Code of Conduct applies to all potential or actual vendors, subcontractors and cooperation partners supplying material, labor or services to Volue. The Supplier Code of Conduct is based on principles of business ethics which are fundamental to Volue, and includes mandatory requirements for everyone working for Volue. Our whistleblowing channel is aimed at any stakeholder who has observed, or experienced acts that violate or might violate the Volue Code of Conduct or the Supplier Code of Conduct.
A central part of our policy is to comply with internationally accepted guidelines and conventions adopted by the United Nations and the OECD, with special focus on the Ten Principles of UN Global Conduct.
In accordance with the Transparency Act, we will provide information on how we manage actual or potential human rights impacts in the organisation and in our supply chain. According to the disclosure requirements of Regulation (EU) 2019/2088, it shall be noted that Volue Market Services does not consider any adverse impacts of investment decisions on sustainability factors in its investment advice or investment decisions. Financial investment advice and investment decisions provided by Volue Market Services for and on behalf of its customers concerns energy derivatives settled based on market prices irrespective of sourcing. Thus, the consideration of adverse impacts of sustainability factors in investment advice or investment decisions is precluded.
